Social media photo opportunities are a key driver of travel destination choice

The latest Expedia "State of the Nation" survey of Australian travelers found photo opportunities were very important to 85 per cent of the respondents. In the age of Instagram, Facebook and the selfie stick, tourism marketers have taken notice of the trend. A whole new profession has sprung up in its wake, with the job title of "digital influencer."
