Scott White is the President & CEO of Visit Greater Palm Springs (VGPS). Tourism is the largest industry for the region, supporting over 53,000 jobs and attracting over 14 million visitors that deliver $7.5 billion annually for the local economy. In 2016, Greater Palm Springs launched a Destination Development Plan, GPSNEXT, with a goal of attracting over 16 million visitors by 2026.

A native of California, White came to VGPS in 2010 following four years as the Executive Director of the San Antonio Convention & Visitors Bureau and eight years at the Greater Phoenix Convention & Visitors Bureau. He began his hospitality career in Monterey, California, in the hotel industry, including nine years with Renaissance Hotels.

With more than 25 years of hospitality and destination marketing experience, White was appointed by Governor Newsom to serve on the California Travel and Tourism Commission in February 2020. He also serves on several industry boards, including the Executive Committee of Destinations International, the California Travel Association Political Action Committee, and the board of the U.S. Travel Association. Locally, White serves on the Board of Directors for the Palm Springs International Film Festival, the Greater Coachella Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Riverside County Regional Task Force.

When not working, White enjoys spending time with his wife, Rachel, and their rescue lab Dexter, as well as being outdoors golfing, hiking or exploring new destinations. One of his favorite quotes is: “In the midst of chaos lies creativity.”
