| Glossaries of Industry Terms |
|
| Several organizations maintain online glossaries to support the segments of the tourism industry. The following organizations provide industry glossaries available to the general public: |
|
Accepted Practices Exchange (APEX) |
APEX, an initiative spearheaded by the Convention Industry Council (CIC), strives to unite the entire meeting, convention and exhibition industry in the development and eventual implementation of voluntary standards, which will be called accepted practices. This online glossary, always a work in progress, is used as a common source for industry definitions.
Destination Marketing Association International (formerly IACVB) |
Destination Marketing has created the MINT System as a shared repository of information about association and corporate meetings. Though only MINT members can gain access to the demographics, preferences, and histories of these meetings, the MINT glossary is viewable to the public. This glossary provides definitions to hundreds of terms commonly used by conference and meeting planners.
Exhibition Services & Contractors Association (ESCA) |
This glossary, a PDF document, is from the Exhibition Services & Contractors Association.
Exhibitor Appointed Contractor Association (EACA) |
This trade show industry glossary of terms is supplied by The Exhibitor Appointed Contractor Association (EACA), a not-for-profit association established on a national basis in 1998 embodying the customer service arm of the trade show industry.
Exhibitor Magazine Glossary |
