New Policy for Meetings Information Network (MINT) Database Users

Tuesday, April 2, 2013

WASHINGTON, DC -- Clarifying the correct use of reports generated from the MINT database, the DMAI Complete and Accurate Data subcommittee created a policy on the use of MINT queries, approved by the Sales & Marketing Committee in March.

The new policy, explained below, will be incorporated into the database's contract and signed by all subscribers. The policy will also appear on the DMAI and MINT websites to inform all users and interested parties.

MINT Query Policy

As a subscriber to the MINT system, the MINT Query Reports are proprietary information for the contributing DMOs.

Reports are not to be run for or shared with any outside partners.

Allowing access to reports, and the information contained within them, with outside entities takes away from the collaborative nature of this DMO subscriber’s only system; and if this does occur, the integrity of the system is then compromised.

Access to the system is for the subscriber DMO and its staff members only.
