National Parks Second Century Action Coaltion
About the Coalition
The National Parks Second Century Action Coalition is a national coalition dedicated to promoting the protection, restoration, and operation of the National Park System to benefit the health and well-being of current and future generations by advocating for federal, fee, and philanthrophic funding. With the National Park System Centennial around the corner, tourism and marketing organizations are partnering with conservation and recreation organizations to ensure our national parks are ready for their next 100 years.
National parks received 282 million visits in 2012 and provide $30 billion in economic activity in nearby communities. As destination marketing organizations, you serve as the natural stewards and guardians of these unparalleled attractions that bring in visitors from not only across the country but around the world.
Below are resources for your organization's advocacy efforts to ensure National Parks are more adequately funded in time for the centennial in 2016 and beyond. Please check back often for updates and additional resources.
