  • Cold calls
  • Now who’s my contact
  • Waiting on others to make decisions

“Being a meeting professional is one of the greatest professions, according to US News & World Report who ranked ‘Meeting, Convention & Event Planner’ 57th on their list of 100 best jobs of 2015,” said Managing Director of DMAI’s empowerMINT initiative Christine “Shimo” Shimasaki. “But, we know the job has moments of sheer, indescribable madness as well.”

A group of meeting planners helped DMAI determine the list ofe “Not-So-Sweet-Sixteen” things that drive meeting planners mad. The March Meeting Planner Madness tournament is divided up into four voting regions to include:

  • On the Job
  • Sales People
  • Who to Trust, and
  • The Find

The tournament was sponsored by Visit Indy, the destination holding the NCAA Men’s Basketball Final Four, and the Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau (GHCVB), one of the cities hosting Elite Eight games.
