Kristen WhiteDirector of Meeting Operations 

Kristen White, CMP joined DMAI as Director of Operations for Destinations Showcase in December 2006, where she uses her more than fourteen years of experience in logistics and meeting planning.
Prior to joining DMAI, Kristen worked for the National Race for the Cure® working as the sponsorship fulfillment manager for a race with more than 40,000 participants to support breast cancer research.  Kristen’s experience also includes working in federal grant review and logistics management for Laurel Consulting Group clients, and with the Program Services department of the Close Up Foundation.  In addition, Kristen was the Director of Travel Services for the Democratic National Committee during the 2000 Presidential campaign and the Florida Recount.  She started her career in event planning by working for CBS at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, France as a housing coordinator.
Kristen grew up in Rye, NY and graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park.

Three things that are always in your suitcase: Travel candle, ear plugs and a sleep mask

Best travel tip: Pack that questionable (to TSA) item easily accessible in your carry-on luggage (candles, etc) – so they can find it right away when they haul you out of line about it. And then smile and thank them when they do.

Aisle or window: Window so I can sleep against it and not the shoulder of a stranger.

Planes, trains or automobiles: Trains when possible
