Incoming 2013-2014 Leaders of Destination Marketing Association International Seek to Bring Tenants of the New “Collaborative Economy” to the Industry

Destination Marketing Association International ratified the organization’s 2013-2014 executive committee at its 99th Annual Convention in Orlando today. Martha Sheridan, president and CEO of the Providence Warwick CVB has assumed the role of the organization’s Chair.

“I look forward to working with my fellow DMAI members, and industry leaders at-large, to seize the opportunities in front of us and move our industry forward,” said Sheridan. “Travelers in the new collaborative economy value local perspectives to help create the personal experiences they desire. As representatives of our communities, destination marketing organizations have the unique ability to facilitate these connections.”

 

Scott Beck, president and CEO of Visit Salt Lake, takes over as chair-elect; Robert Lander, president and CEO of the Austin CVB, has been elected secretary/treasurer; and Greg Edwards, president and CEO of the Greater Des Moines CVB, will now serve as immediate past-chair.

Nominated to serve three-year terms as new board members for DMAI are Brad Dean, president and CEO, Myrtle Beach Area CVB; Dave Gazley, Vice President, Meeting and Convention Sales, TourismVancouver; James Kirkos, president and CEO, Meadowlands Liberty CVB; Anja Loetscher, Director, Geneva Convention Bureau; and Annette Rummel, Ph.D., president and CEO, Great Lakes Bay Regional CVB.
