WASHINGTON, DC (November 6, 2013) - Aligned with its commitment to increasing DMO exposure in the meetings market, DMAI is pleased to announce a reorganization of initiatives among current staff and introduce a new staff member to the empowerMINT team.

“Over the last five years, DMAI’s industry resources like empowerMINT and the Event Impact Calculator have empowered DMOs to connect with and support the meetings community on a bigger scale,” said Michael Gehrisch, President and CEO of DMAI. “As we continue expanding our suite of resources, we will make sure DMOs remain fully engaged in all opportunities to elevate our collective presence.”

Kate Skidmore joins DMAI as Subscriber Services and Engagement Manager for the empowerMINT product. Kate has spent the last seven years at the San Diego Tourism Authority and most recently in the capacity of Digital & Traditional Media Account Executive.  Her background includes marketing, advertising sales, IT implementation, and hotel sales training for iLead. DMAI looks forward to incorporating her combination of skills as to fully support all DMOs engaged with empowerMINT in gaining more exposure to planners and helping them articulate and drive the DMO value proposition.

To that end, Elaine Rosquist as Director of Services, will assume project management responsibilities for empowerMINT and the Event Impact Calculator. With more than fifteen years of experience with DMAI and extensive familiarity with both programs, Elaine will work directly with web engineers, developers, and CRM partners to maintain, troubleshoot, and manage improvements for these programs.

Joy Lin will transition to a new role as Content Manager with DMAI’s Marketing Communications department as a part of the organization’s commitment to a digital content strategy. After working closely with DMOs on the empowerMINT and Event Impact Calculator initiatives for the last three years, Joy will now be dedicated to researching and developing new resources to further the success of the DMO industry in the meetings market.

“Reorganizing our initiatives will allow DMAI to ensure DMOs are involved in ample opportunities for quality face time with meeting professionals, and to support them with key insights and documentation,” said Christine Shimasaki, Managing Director of empowerMINT and Event Impact Calculator. “All the while, we look forward to improving the quality and scope of our tools with the continued involvement of our developers and industry partners.”
