DMAI ANNOUNCES NEW PARTNERSHIP POSITION
Destination Marketing Association International (DMAI) Chair Gary Sherwin, CDME and President and CEO Don Welsh today announced the appointment of Sarah Dickson to Vice President, Partnership Development. Most recently with Brand USA as Director, Partnership Development, Dickson joins the DMAI team effective September 26, 2016 and will report to Nina Winston, Executive Vice President, Membership and Partner Relations.
“DMAI’s members and partners are central to the success of the association’s efforts,” said Sherwin. “Don and his senior leadership team have done a masterful job at identifying exceptional talent in their continued efforts to deliver on what our stakeholders want, need and are willing to support. I look forward to working closely with this team as they continue to evaluate and secure opportunities that will bring value and collaboration across the industry.”
Dickson joins DMAI with more than 12 years’ experience in the partnership development area. In this new role she will focus on strategy and implementation of a year-round range of programs that deliver opportunity and value to DMAI’s corporate partners.
The appointment of Dickson further supports the association’s organizational realignment and the commitment to members and partners. Welsh stated, “Sarah fills a vitally important position for the association in attracting new partners and sponsorship revenue. Working with Nina and Lauren Benedict, I am confident this team will continue to build and further develop the relationships with our members and partners.”
In her roles with Brand USA and U.S. Travel Association, Dickson successfully grew their partnership base and identified and capitalized on new sponsorship opportunities, each of which were instrumental in growing revenues.
