Destinations to Celebrate the National Park Service Centennial on a New Night and New Venue

Thursday, October 1, 2015

The Destination and Travel Foundation is pleased to announce the Ronald Reagan Building as its new location for the 2016 Annual Foundation Dinner to be held on Tuesday, February 9th, 2016. Also new next year, the Foundation Dinner will immediately follow Destination Marketing Association International’s Destination Showcase, providing destinations and industry partners an interactive setting to extend their day of networking with clients, colleagues and friends.

“This year's dinner is going to be unlike any other year; giving every attendee a chance to experience the great country we live in through our celebration of the National Parks Service, our 2016 Spirit of Hospitality Honoree. We invite you to join in the Centennial celebration of the National Park Service and experience a little of the magic that happens when you get outside and explore the great outdoors,” said Joseph Marinelli, Chair, Destination & Travel Foundation.

“The National Park Service is honored to be recognized with the Spirit of Hospitality Award,” said Jonathan B. Jarvis, Director of the National Park Service, “especially in light of the 2016 Centennial, during which we invite everyone to Find Your Park. The national parks have a long and collaborative relationship with the tourism industry, working together to provide memorable visitor experiences and to ensure the long-term conversation of our nation’s cultural and natural heritage.”

All proceeds from the dinner will go directly to protect and advance the Foundation's efforts to demonstrate the value of destination marketing and the travel and tourism industry.
