We enjoyed a great turn out and an insightful discussion for our "Inside Out" session at Destinations Showcase last week. It was truly inspiring to see so many DMO Sales Professionals nodding in agreement as they watched planners and hoteliers describe the most valuable roles DMOs can own in the sales process.

The lively dialogue allowed all participants in the room to come to a complete agreement that now is the time to collaborate as an industry as we move from being transactional to transformative in our roles as knowledge providers, time savers, connectors and protectors. It is vital for us as DMO sales professionals to understand the most important roles we fulfill for both planners and our hotel and venue stakeholders. Effectively managing both of our most important “customers” requires DMO sales professionals to be prepared and proactive.
