Destinations Week in Washington is just around the corner. With so many significant events happening in one location, there has never been a greater opportunity to advance your organization and industry in one business trip. Here is a quick update on what's happening with the week’s events:

Destination & Travel Foundation Dinner

This year’s Destination & Travel Foundation Dinner promises to be a wonderful affair, as we toast the substantial contribution Brand USA continues to have on the travel industry.  In a time when the American public’s top interest continues to be economic growth, Brand USA has been instrumental in ensuring the travel industry plays a pivotal role in leading economic stimulus.

Special guest Peter Greenberg will join us as our Master of Ceremonies, as we celebrate the power of travel and destinations. With the Dinner being the largest Foundation event of the year, we're raising awareness on the important resources for research, education, scholarships and programs that support the destination marketing and travel industries. We are so excited that more than 65 destinations and organizations are already planning to join us and have purchased tables. We hope you reserve your spot today to share your passion and resolve for promoting travel and tourism.

Destinations Showcase

Over 125 DMOs have already registered to exhibit and showcase their respective meeting destinations at the 2015 Destinations Showcase Conference & Expo. We are working tirelessly to attract a diverse group of qualified meeting planners, and are pacing well ahead of our 2014 event. To get a sense of what types of planners attend Destinations Showcase, click here.

To help with these efforts, we have developed a robust educational program as part of CIC's new Preferred Provider program for CMP credits, and headlined by our keynote speaker Marshawn Evans Daniels. New this year, Destinations Showcase is utilizing Map Your Show, an online directory and exhibitor dashboard to assist exhibiting destinations with increased visibility and access to registered meeting planners before, during and after the show.

There’s still time to register your organization for this unique event, which could mean big business for your destination. DMO registration ends on February 13th. To register, click here

Destination Capitol Hill

At Destination Capitol Hill, you'll not only meet with policymakers to discuss critical issues impacting travel, but you'll also learn about upcoming legislation that affects you. This year, don't miss guest speaker Chuck Todd, NBC News political director and host of Meet the Press. Topics have been posted for the advanced training webinars to help Destination Capitol Hill delegates become knowledgeable about our top legislative priorities and prepare for their trip to Washington. Be sure to check those out, and note that early bird registration for Destination Capitol Hill closes today.

CDME & Sales Academy

DMAI will be offering two CDME core courses along with two elective courses during Destinations Week in Washington. With the CDME program undergoing a redesign in 2015, we recommend that active program participants take advantage of the courses being offered. The courses will not be concurrent, so participants will have the opportunity to take all four courses, if they desire.

Stay tuned for additional news and action items for the single most important week for DMOs to be in Washington, DC. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to contact us at communications@destinationmarketing.org.
