My first time attending IMEX America was at its inaugural show in 2011. Still an industry ingenue, I wasn't even a year into the DMO and meetings industry and getting thrown into an extraordinary tradeshow within the excess that we all know is Las Vegas, wreaked havoc on my introvert sensibilities. The time that I wasn't working the DMAI booth, I preferred to spend in the shadowy corners of my hotel room not speaking. Needless to say, they stopped sending me to IMEX America and have since given me techie responsibilities instead. It was a mutually agreed-upon decision.

Regardless, I hope everyone enjoys their time at next week's show. IMEX America brings a tremendous influx of buyers, influencers, and decision makers. While the tradeshow is where you'll follow the buzz, don't overlook the education opportunities throughout the week. As DMOs, you not only have the chance to hear what your customers are learning about or struggling with, you can also offer your experience and expertise through discussion and peer exchange.

So, I took the liberty of going through next week's schedule and pulled my top picks for DMO sales pros for IMEX America. And if you're like me, not headed to Las Vegas next week, be sure to follow online at #IMEX15 and the official organizer account @IMEX_Group.
