As destination sales professionals, we're often looking for ways to make connections. We connect meeting planners with the right venue in our destinations.

We connect them with the right services, speakers, restaurants, -- really anything and everything -- so that they can create the perfect experience for their participants.

Part of making these connections however, is having perspective or understanding of what planners are looking for in the first place.

We as DMOs achieve this in a lot of ways. We constantly conduct surveys, advisory boards, focus groups, sales calls, customer relationship profiles, or many other methods just to understand what our customers are looking for.

But did you know that DMAI is already doing so on a constant basis on your behalf?

In addition to an annual meeting planner survey, Meeting Professionals Advisory Board, and DMO education like The Evolving Role of Sales Professionals and Convention Sales Forum, DMAI's empowerMINT also publishes ongoing planner perspectives online for your convenience.

Every month, we publish new interviews on the empowerMINT blog that our very own Terri Roberts conducts with the meeting industry's foremost DMO fans with questions to:

  • Gauge their planning background,
  • Surface their current challenges and goals,
  • Understand what they value in working with a DMO, and
  • Show how one destination has helped them be successful.

Recruited by empowerMINT DMOs to share their experiences, these planners also demonstrate to their planner colleagues the value of working with you and with our industry as a whole.

Go check out all of our planner Q&As now on the empowerMINT blog and visit often to stay up to date on what your customers are sharing about their business and their priorities when working with a DMO.
