Top 5 Things as a DMO Sales Professional Not to Miss

With more than 40 educational topics, 100 products to explore, and 1,000 industry professionals in attendance, we’ve taken the liberty of distilling five new developments directly impacting your effectiveness and exposure as a DMO sales professional.

Don’t have your president ask you a month down the road, “Where’s our DMAI video?” or “Why aren’t we listed on Northstar Media’s websites?” Our job is to make you look good by providing you with ample opportunities to plug into all the exciting projects we have going on, and here they are:

5. “How We Help You” Video Campaign to Meeting Planners

This new public service announcement-style video campaign is designed to explain to meeting planners exactly how you help them – plain and simple. DMOs subscribing to the empowerMINT initiative are welcome to participate in one of 50 destination videos we intend to record at the convention. To participate, please sign up for a time slot here.

4. Re-designed empowerMINT Blog

Come by DMAI’s booth at the tradeshow to check out our newly re-designed web property that integrates your destination specifications more thoroughly with the most recent news articles, educational resources, social media feeds, and other information exclusively about your destination.

3. Online Syndication Projects

Did you know that your empowerMINT profile is already being packaged and repurposed for planners to search and view in a number of different industry websites? These include Cvent, HelmsBriscoe, TSNN, Destinations Showcase, Meetings & Conventions, and Successful Meetings – and we’re not finished yet. Feel free to chat with us about how we’re using your destination information to blanket the online meetings community.

2. Sports Module of the Event Impact Calculator

DMAI is thrilled to be on the cusp of supporting the industry with a standard for calculating the economic impact of sporting events in your destinations with the unparalleled support and dedication of our partners at Tourism Economics. Come prepared to learn about this important topic at the Sports Marketing education session, and check out demonstrations and workshops for this important tool at the Business Exchange.

1. DMO Channel Impact Study

DMAI stepped forth with the first study to understand how much DMOs contributed to total group room nights sold in the U.S. in 2011, so aren’t you curious to hear how we did in 2012? Stay tuned during our general session to find out exactly what level of footprint we have with our partners and how we can leverage this information to work more closely with them in the future.

But I'm not attending the Annual Convention...

We're sorry to miss you, but we will broadcast information throughout and after the event, so stay tuned for more educational content and industry news.
