Airbnb comes under fire in New York City

New York has emerged as Airbnb’s largest market and its most contentious. The company says it has 25,000 active hosts in the city and argues that that the money guests bring in bolsters local businesses and helps New Yorkers pay their gallingly high rents. But after several years of rapid growth, the company is finding itself besieged on all sides by an unusual assortment of foes.
